Our beginnings
Founded in 1947 and formerly known as the Greater Lawrence Council of Churches, Communities Together, Inc. is a collaborative of Catholic and Protestant churches in the communities of Andover, Lawrence, Methuen and North Andover.
The organization provides and supports many community programs that are beyond the means of any individual congregation.
In addition, Communities Together works closely with many social service agencies that provide assistance in the Greater Lawrence area such as Neighbors in Need, Aaron’s Presents, Andover Breadloaf, Lawrence Art House, Lawrence Boat House, YWCA and YDO.
Our Purpose
“The supporting congregations of Communities Together are called to be an instrument of Christ and to know and share His love.
We are committed to witness, as one body, to the unity of Christ’s love by supporting outreach programs, sharing worship experiences, and responding together to the needs of the people of the Greater Lawrence area and surrounding communities.”
Communities Together mission statement
The organization draws on the generosity of the faith community to address specific needs of the Greater Lawrence community and, in particular, the needs of the children in the City of Lawrence.
Communities Together gratefully receives support from a number of foundations and charitable trusts to address the needs of families within the Greater Lawrence area.
