Part time – 25 Hrs/Wk

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is accountable for carrying out the mission and vision of the organization. The incumbent is responsible for the planning, organizing and directing of the organization’s operations of the after school and summer enrichment program.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the daily operations of Manos Felices!; assists the Coordinator of Manos Felices! with the recruitment, training, retention and supervision of employees of Manos Felices!; fills in as needed during the absence of employees;
  • Ensures the financial stability of the organization by communicating with individual donors, churches, organizations and grant makers; seeks funding and submits applications/closing reports to existing grant makers and potential new ones;
  • Prepares annual budget and monitors income/expenses throughout the year;
  • Responds to inquiries from churches and civic organizations regarding programming needs and daily operations of Manos Felices!; facilitates the involvement of individuals and church groups with the children of Manos Felices! in the celebration of birthdays and holidays;
  • Posts appropriate material on social media outlets; submits articles, photos, etc. to  for publication;
  • Responds to inquiries from regulatory agencies, grant makers and others regarding the programming and daily operations of Manos Felices!;
  • Fosters a close-knit relationship with the Housing Authority Managers and residents of Housing Projects;
  • Maintains a working relationship with the Executive Directors of other nonprofit organizations in order to ensure the maximum support to all residents of the Greater Lawrence area;
  • Establishes, develops and maintains relationships with supporting churches, civic organizations, local nonprofit organizations, Lawrence Public School System and area colleges in order to ensure continued support and participation;
  • Meets with the Director of Communication and Business Administration on a regular schedule to ensure continuity of operations across all ministry areas.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills
  • Knowledge of and experience in a nonprofit setting
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures and budget preparation
  • Evidence of connections within the faith community
  • Ability to effectively communicate across a variety of mediums
  • A Bachelor or Masters degree in business, education or social work
