In conjunction with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors, the incumbent is accountable for carrying out the mission and vision of the organization.  The Director is focused on maintaining relationships with participating churches throughout the area and for cultivating new ones with both churches and civic organizations.


  • Establishes, develops and maintains relationships with supporting churches, civic organizations, local nonprofit organizations, Lawrence Public School System and area colleges in order to ensure continued support and participation;
  • Plans, coordinates and publicizes the annual Lenten Services, National Day of Prayer, Interfaith Thanksgiving Service and Prayer Shawl Tea to engage the Greater Lawrence community in witnessing to the unity of Christ’s love;
  • Plans for the annual Vacation Bible School sessions held throughout Lawrence; communicates with church VBS Directors regarding their participation and in the selection of the program;
  • Orders and delivers all supplies needed for each church for VBS; receives feedback following the completion of the summer series;
  • Fosters a close-knit relationship within the other nonprofit organizations in order to ensure the maximum support to all residents of the Greater Lawrence area;
  • Communicates effectively with all constituents via email, social media and USPS on a regular basis;
  • Represents the organization as a participant in various programs and events throughout the Greater Lawrence area;
  • Responds to inquiries from churches and civic organizations regarding programming  needs and daily operations of Manos Felices!;
  • Facilitates the involvement of individuals and church groups with the children of Manos Felices! in the celebration of birthdays and holidays;
  • Collaborates with and provides assistance to the Coordinator of the annual Undie Sundays diaper and children’s underwear drive to increase awareness of the needs within the Greater Lawrence area and to ensure the success of the initiative;
  • Supports the organization’s part-time chaplaincy ministry at Holy Family Hospital through the maintenance of the relationship with Steward Health and with the chaplains.


  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills
  • Knowledge of and experience in a nonprofit setting
  • Evidence of connections within the faith community
  • Ability to effectively communicate across a variety of mediums
  • A Bachelor or Masters degree in business, education or social work
